DEATH’S DESIGN: UNBOXING DARKSIDERS II COLLECTOR’S EDITION
Here’s a closer look at THQ’s anticipated sequel Darksiders II Collector’s Edition. Included in the bundle is:
- A copy of Darksiders II
- A replica of Death’s Mask with base and stand
- A digital copy of the Darksiders II soundtrack by Jesper Kyd
- An art book
- Shadow of Death DLC (armor and weapon set)The replica of Death’s Mask is amazing in detail. It feels cheap in your hands because it’s a plasticky type of lightweight resin but it looks like it was sculpted from actual bone. If you pick this edition up be careful installing the base and stand for Death’s Mask because it felt extremely weak at the connecting points.
The artbook is really detailed and full of some amazing art work which you can look forward to it’s own post(s) to showcase it’s greatness. The soundtrack is hauntingly good (not surprising considering it’s Jesper Kyd!) and I’m glad it’s the full soundtrack and not a sampler like some Collector’s Editions have recently started doing.
At $99.99 it’s a delicate balance of interesting items for a Collector’s Edition but it feels like there should have been more there like a Death figurine or a graphic novel or something. Darksiders II (in regular, Limited and Collector’s Editions) is available now at retailers everywhere and online.
